Giuseppe Vaccaro
Had Giuseppe Vaccaro not undertaken a fortnight’s work experience in a local salon aged 15, his career could have taken a very different path: ‘My father was a gardener and I had the option of following in his footsteps. But after my work placement, I just fell in love with hairdressing – and my dad said my hands were more suited to hair work than horticulture!’ An apprenticeship in a Surrey salon followed and Giuseppe stayed with the company for three years. He then moved to London to work in a Knightsbridge salon where he learned all he could about hairdressing. Giuseppe's life changed at the age of 22 when an opportunity arose to buy a salon in Staines-Upon-Thames. He joined forces with former colleague Lorenzo Mortellaro and together they realised the dream they had always discussed and opened Mova (an amalgamation of both surnames).  Mova opened its doors in 2002 and Giuseppe has never looked back… A self-confessed family-man who is driven by ambition to make his loved-ones proud, Giuseppe believes that the secret to Mova’s success is its ability to evolve: ‘We never stand still as a company – we’re always keen to learn anything we can, whether it’s a new innovation we can introduce at the salon or a new technique we can bring to a client.’ Let's find out a little more about what makes Giuseppe tick with this fun Question & Answer session... Which styles or colours do you absolutely love doing?  I enjoy cutting short hair, restyling hair and cutting with curly hair texture. What do you love about being a hairdresser? I like transforming people, making them feel better about themselves and more confident.  I am also an Educator so enjoy passing on my skills and knowledge to future stylists and colour technicians. Which celebrity hair would you like to get your hands on and why?  I’d like to cut Gordon Ramsay’s hair so I can pick his brains about his business success. Who or what inspires you to create fabulous hair?  The smile on my clients’ faces. What is your ultimate ambition? To be recognised within the hairdressing industry for excellence and to become a business coach! One day.  How would you describe yourself in three words? Caring, passionate and ambitious.

Samantha Ward
Salon Manager Samantha Ward has multiple roles which help ensure everything runs smoothly in the salon.  She joined the Mova family as a receptionist in 2011 and has since taken on more responsibility with her move into a managerial role.  Samantha is also our Social Media Manager, ensuring our clients are up to date via our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts. What do you love about your job?  I love my role within the salon. I love Mova's atmosphere, and the team and the clients get on so well. We're always referring to ourselves as the Mova family - after all, we spend more time with each other than with our own families! Growing into my roles with Mova has given me such good work ethics, and now being in charge of the social media, marketing and PR makes the job role that much more enjoyable.  I love the contrast of making sure the salon runs smoothly both behind the scenes and interacting with the clients in the salon. Which celebrity would you like to see walk through the salon doors?  Hilary Duff - my childhood idol! We could give her the full hair pampering works. Who inspires you?  Lauren Conrad. She has so many business ventures going on at once and keeps everything in check, which inspires me to keep all the best projects going in an organised, presentable fashion. What is your ultimate ambition?  To travel the world. How would you describe yourself in three words? A multi-tasker, organised, friendly.
Hannah Perham
Director Hannah Perham joined the Mova family in 2012 and qualified three years later.  She is now a specialist in wedding hair and hair extensions, and loves session styling.  In this quick-fire Question & Answer session, Hannah tells us about her dream job… What do you love about being a hairdresser?  Session styling is my passion, which is how I became a wedding specialist so quickly since qualifying. I love putting hair up and making people feel special on their special day. I also specialise in colouring, cutting, styling, Nanokeratin hair smoothing, hair extensions and special occasion hair. What do you love about being a hairdresser?  I love the creativity of the industry and being able to change someone's look. Which celebrity would you love to see walk through the salon doors?  Rihanna. She is quite controversial and has had many different looks within her career.  If I were her stylist I would give her balayage to caramel hair colour on the ends and a midi-bob to compliment her face shape and skin tone. Who inspires you?  Social media. I could spend hours scrolling through hair inspiration accounts and it gives me countless ideas of styles from around the world. I find myself always playing around with hair when I get the chance, to keep up to date with all the latest trends. If you were stranded on a desert island, which hair products could you not live without?   Kerastase Nutritive Masquintense treatment to keep my hair hydrated in the sun, and Kerastase Serum Therapiste to keep my hair soft and silky.
What is your ultimate ambition? To work my way up to the top salon levels.
How would you describe yourself in three words? Hard-working, chatty & professional.
Annabel Yugin
Meet our Apprentice Annabel Yugin who joined the Mova team towards the end of 2017 and is learning the skills it takes to become a great hairdresser.  Annabel tells us a little bit about herself...  Which styles or colours do you absolutely love doing?  I'm only just beginning but I have been learning the different types of blowdries and I love the curly bouncy style.
What do you love about being a hairdresser?   I love that it brings out my confidence. When I began I was a shy person, but since working at Mova it has brought out my bubbly personality and allowed me to achieve the goals that I never knew that I could.  I also love meeting new people and getting to know them.  Which celebrity hair would you like to get your hands on and why?  Lady Gaga.  She loves her bobs and, as she has long hair, I would love to re-style and shape her hair. Who or what inspires you to create fabulous hair?  The stylists at Mova - they all have their own different techniques which I can pick up and learn from. If you had to live on a desert island, which three hair products would you take with you?  Kerastase Bain Soleil to protect my hair from all the swimming I would be doing, also the Soleil masque to keep my hair healthy from the sun, and a tangle teezer to remove those knots. What is your ultimate ambition? To become a qualified stylist. How would you describe yourself in three words?  Helpful, bubbly and smiley.
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise others... I did cheerleading at school.
